Coach Profile: Gabriel started his head coach's career in 1983. He was assistant coach and after head coach at Tractorul Brasov in Divizia B (L2). He is a rigorously trainer. He gained important international experience after the UEFA Cup clash with teams like IFK Goeteborg or Betis Sevilla while he trained Zimbrul Chisinau. Serious and very dedicated to his trade is not content with half measures. Hunger of results makes him document constantly, going for specialization and documentaries from teams like Juventus Torino and Ajax Amsterdam. Achievements: As Head Coach: 2009 and 2010: Documentation and research in italian football (calcio). 2006: 2 months of specialisation at italian Serie A teams AC Torino and SS Lazio + Participation to the coaches workshops organised twice a year by the Romanian Soccer Federation (FRF). 2004: Holder of the PRO licence, awarded by UEFA (First Romanian promotion, along with: Gh. Hagi, M. Rednic, D. Petrescu, G. Balint, I. Moldovan, I. Marin etc.). Within the PRO licence activities, Gabriel performed a 3 weeks practical stages at Juventus Torino (Italy) with Marcello Lippi and at Ajax Amsterdam (Nederlands) with Ronald Koeman. Season 2002-2003: Europa Cup with FC Zimbrul Chisinau. Games against IFK Göteborg (Sweden)and Betis Sevilla (Spain). Season 2002/2003: Runners-up in the Championship and winners of the Cup of Moldova. 2002: Voted as Coach of the Year in L1 in Moldova by the Football Federation of Moldova. Gabriel promoted some rookies at the senior teams and they became international players: Sabin Ilie (FC National Bucharest – Romania), Ionel Ganea (VfB Stuttgart – Germany), Florentin Dumitru, Pompiliu Stoica (both Steaua Bucharest – Romania), Bogdan Lobon (Dinamo Bucharest – Romania & Ajax Amsterdam – Holland), Borea Cebotari, Viorel Frunze, Ghenadi Alexici, Romanenco, Boricenco (all from Zimbrul Chisinau). May 2002-June 2002: 3rd position in the L1 Moldovan Championship with FC Zimbrul Chisinau. Season 2001-2002: UEFA Cup. Games against Mika Ashtarak (Armenia) and Internazionale Milano (Italy). Players from FC Brasov (Vascko, Dossey and Benciu) were rookies in L1. 2001: Voted as Coach of the Year. April 2001: Voted as Coach of the Month in L1.
